Please do not let finances stand in the way of reaching out to me. We can discuss this further during your free consultation.
I have often been told “you get what you pay for” and I pride myself on offering top quality, trauma-informed treatment to my clients. I am an experienced, caring trauma therapist who is passionate about helping people. If you are unsure whether therapy is worth it, or have had negative experiences with therapists in the past please read how some of my past clients have felt about my care here.
Use of Health Insurance
I accept Cigna health insurance, otherwise I am considered an ‘Out of Network’ provider with insurance. Many insurance policies have out of network benefits. I recommend calling the number on the back of your card and asking: “What are my out of network benefits for behavioral/mental health services?” I will provide you with a “superbill” required for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Use of “Out of Network” Benefits
If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with monthly paperwork (a superbill) for submission to your insurance for reimbursement. You may also consider using a health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA) to cover therapy costs.
Here are some questions you can ask your insurance company to understand your potential reimbursement:
Do I have out-of-network benefits to see a licensed psychologist for outpatient psychotherapy?
If so, will CPT codes 90834, 90837, 90847 and 90791 be reimbursed?
Is there an annual deductible? Copay? Coinsurance?
Is there an out-of-pocket max?
How are out-of-network claims submitted?
Are there any other rules, requirements, forms, or procedures that I should be aware of?
Benefits to paying out of pocket:
There are benefits to paying out of pocket. One of the top reasons people choose to pay out of pocket is because you are not limited to a certain duration of treatment per calendar year. Because you are not using insurance I am not required to give you a formal mental health diagnosis. Sometimes having a mental health diagnosis can impact life insurance or future employment.
Cancellation Policy:
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. This means, I require 24 hours notice (via text or email) for all non-emergent cancellations of any previously scheduled or recurring psychotherapy appointments. You will be required to pay your full session fee for any missed sessions or cancellations made later than 24 hours from your session start time.
